I Have a Dream

You know how at the end of every year, when people start to make their New Year’s Resolutions and when the first of the year comes it’s all about the “New Year, New Me.” Well, this year, is the year I get to say that. I am writing to you on January 2nd, two days in and you will see this blog post one month into the new year on the day my website launches. What do you think? Every inch of this space has been dedicated to my dreams and I’m so glad I’m finally sharing it with all of you.=

I know I gave you all a brief synopsis of the story on how this website came about when I made the initial announcement about the site; but now it’s time I share my full story with you and what my dream is for this site and my business.

In the beginning of the summer of 2017, I began to think about what I really wanted out of my original site. I had all of these big dreams that became completely unattainable because of the limitations of a third-party platform. I didn’t own the site or any of the rights to the content because it was developed through SquareSpace.  This was one of the many excuses I was making for myself to not work harder on the site, thus I decided to move beyond the original sight to something bigger and better.

After some time, I decided that I needed to take my life back and the only way my dreams were going to come true was if I got off my ass and worked. I started doing some research on how to successfully start a blog/website and how the people I follow found their success. After hours of scrolling and reading, I found that some of the blogs I follow religiously were all designed and crafted by one company, The Verisage Group. I contacted them with a list of questions, mainly prices, and decided they were the perfect company to help me design the website of my dreams.

After my call with one of their experts, Lauren (ironic, I know) I decided that before I approached my parents I needed a solid plan. I spent the summer budgeting and making a business plan and presentation for my parents. At the end of the summer, I sat them down and made my case.

After a little session of Q&A, they said YES! I know!!! I couldn’t believe that my parents were just as ready as I was to invest in my dreams. After this, I contacted the company and told them we were ready to sign the contract and get started.

Three months later, after saving and saving, I got the website I have always dreamed of. A platform for me to showcase my writing and photography skills. I wanted this to be the start of my career and the beginnings to a wonderful life, and here it is.

This site is not just for me, it’s for all of you. I want my viewers to open my site and see my photographs that motivate them to capture a moment. I want you to read my creative writing and become enlightened to a young person’s perspective on the world.  I want you to read my blogs and discover that I am reaching for my dreams and so can you.

So, here is my dream, on a platter set out for all of you. This is the beginning of my career and is going to be the adventure of a lifetime and I am so happy you are all going to be a part of it.

XOXO,

LO
