Dating in MENhattan

*Dating in MENhattan* Get it (wink wink)

Everyone knows that the city that never sleeps is a melting pot of people from all over the world. There are men and woman who work any and every kind of job there is; there are the rich and famous, and there are the young and freshly moved to the city. Manhattan is the perfect place to find the love of your life whether you meet that person at a bar, office party, on the street, or tinder, there is bound to be one person you can fall in love with, within the 8 million of us in New York City.

Since dating in the city is so different from anywhere else, I thought I’d share with you how Max and I got our relationship started in one of the greatest cities in the world. It’s actually a cute story on how we met….

We had both joined Tinder to meet some fun and interesting people (and that we did) with no intentions of meeting someone we could fall in love with. But we did. I had recently updated all the apps on my phone, and me being the type A control freak I am, I cannot stand those little red notification icons on apps, so I always open them right away to get rid of the bubble. I opened the newly updated tinder app and opened my messages that told me I had a new match. As I attempted to open his profile, I swiped up on my iPhone to turn up the brightness, when to my surprise, the new app sends little emoji’s when you swipe up. Yes, I unintentionally messaged him, and guess what that message was? Two margarita glasses.

I was beyond embarrassed and just started laughing, thinking, “whelp”, he won’t be in touch. But to my surprise, again, I promptly get a message a little while later that read “Hi (Smile emoji)” with another message bubble, “Wanna get drinks?” Not only was I was thrilled that my little mistake didn’t scare him off but, I died of laughter at his response.

So, after this we started messaging and then exchanged numbers, which he had told me he had never done with someone before on the app, and not too much longer after that we hung out. After three weeks of seeing each other almost every day, we decided to make it official.

We’ve been dating for 5 months now, and I can truly say, he is the love of my life. He makes me happy in ways I didn’t even know possible. He is everything I could ask for in a man, and I could not be luckier to call him mine. He is not only my boyfriend but my best friend.

So, moral of the story, dating in Manhattan is an experience on its own, you never know the type of people you’ll meet and what will come of these new relationships. Be open to try new things and new ways of meeting people, it’s an adventure on its own, dating, so when the opportunity arises to meet someone new or try a new way of meeting someone, take it. You never know if they’ll be your Prince Charming.
